Terms of Service

Welcome to Comma. By downloading, installing or using the Comma app and its companion online service (the "Service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Comma is a speech-to-text tool: hold to speak, release to pause, and the audio is transcribed. Recognition can run online or, after downloading a model, entirely on your device. Online recognition consumes online quota; quota can be purchased and an initial free amount is included.

2. Accounts and responsibility

• You may use the Service anonymously or sign in with Apple or Google. Keep your device and credentials secure.
• Transcripts are produced by automatic speech recognition and may contain errors. Treat transcripts as drafts and review them before relying on them.
• The Service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the Service.
• We aim to keep the Service available but may suspend it for maintenance, upgrades or events beyond our control.

3. Your content and acceptable use

• You retain all rights to your recordings and text. You grant us the processing permission needed to provide recognition (for example, processing audio in server memory in online mode).
• Do not upload or process unlawful content, do not abuse, attack or disrupt the Service, and do not use automation to maliciously consume quota or bypass metering.
• We may suspend or terminate access for violations.

4. Purchases and quota

• Purchases in this version are configurable flows; in-app purchases made through the App Store are governed by Apple's terms.
• Quota is metered by the seconds of audio actually recognized. Retrying the same audio over the network does not double-charge.
• Refunds follow the rules of the purchase channel where required by law.

5. Intellectual property

The Comma interface, icon, text and code are owned by us or the respective rights holders. Do not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works except as permitted by law.

6. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account in the app. If you materially violate these terms we may stop providing the Service; consumed quota is non-refundable to the extent permitted by applicable law.

7. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time; the effective date on this page will be updated. Continued use means you accept the updated terms. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or on this page.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. Disputes should first be resolved through good-faith negotiation.
